If its Hostel...It's Gotta Hav Memories!

Yesterday,it was a quiet normal day after I woke up lazily; Thought a 100 times bfore I fixed a glass of OJ (Orange juice) and scrambled egg for my breakfast ; surfed the net for a while and then began with sum preparations for lunch...After my husband comes and leaves after lunch I sit back and watch the food network channel for obviously no reason, a few of the comedy shows on tv and pass time reading some novels or watching youtube. I have been consoling myself that this is just for a few more days i.e till my college starts in august for the fall sem...oofff...That wudb a relief after all the boring afternoons i spent at home without doing anything productive.

Life has changed quiet a lot since I have arrived in the US. Back in my college days I was one amongst the very few who used to go to bed very early(sumtimes around 9-30 pm), wake up early and never ever skipped the hostel b'fast b it a weekday or a weekend....Running to the class holding the parallel bars and sheet holders to reach atleast bfore the lecturer leaves the class so that we can get the attendance for the day....Roaming on the roads of Jaipur with the bahana of conducting a market survey; absconding classes and going out for small outings just to get away from the huge submission stress...The long breaks in between classes where the whole class used to gather in the college canteen for a chai and samosa...( n tis was usually more than once in a day); The chats on the department stairs when the professors were at rest; staying back after the college hours so as to plan for a mass bunk or to make void tomorrows submissions......if this was to the college then the hostel was double the fun.

As of now i remember my final yr life the most.... Walking back to the hostel from the college which was like 10 minutes and many of the times v archi gals (6 from the hostel) used to take this walk back together, just pulling each others legs n umbrellas ( every1 nedded to carry one so that u dont get tarred by the heat) n yelling all the way. Just as we enter the hostel the canteen is the first stop..sit down there, hav a chai n biscut and a maggi or omlet if u r extra hungry....V used to spend about 45min to 1 hr there alone. After this v almost a number of times used to gather in my room (ofcourse the cleanest one)...few on the bed, a few on the mattress on the floor and have a session gossipping n all...Slowly after an hr or so v spread out to our respective rooms, fresh up and then turn on the system...naahhh...not to work at all....its the music time...V 6 used to stay in the same corridor with vandana living adjacent to me and kanya to the diagonally opposite. Swati, Gattu n parul were in the next bay....now at this time if u pass the corridor u will b fed with a potpurri of languages...telugu playlist from mine, tamil from kanya's;english from vandana n parul, punjabi songs from swati n hindi from gattu's system.....hav to hava lot of ears to listen to all that stuff...Finally v resort to dinner at around 8-8:30 and then luk up to tomorrows submissions...n as i told u, ppl like me who r early sleepers already luk out for the watch as its bed time. With great effort from all sides v try to put a little of work and towards the end unanimously agree that v are not going to do the submission tomorrow n off go to bed or on to the awaiting phone calls...;) All the fun n joy!

Never does a day pass without all these thoughts crossing my mind and today I cudn't hold them back....
